His overall record as Head Coach was 60-29 taking Redwood teams to section playoffs all four years he was Head Coach. Coach was a warm, caring man with an engaging smile who loved the Lord. Coach truly understood that his role as a coach was more than just about wins and losses but caring for his players and developing mentoring relationships. He not only devoted his time to the ministry of Redwood Christian but was an active member of the Gideons International who help to distribute Bibles in hotels and schools throughout the world. John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Judy Fabris. Jennifer Beck, former player for Coach Fabris and RCS Head Varsity Softball Coach said of Coach Fabris . . . . "John Fabris was a wonderful man! He was a mentor, a coach, and a friend for me. He treated me like I was one of his daughters, always encouraging and supporting me. John had a huge heart and was willing to do anything for anyone. I had the pleasure of both playing and coaching with John. He was a great mentor for me as a coach and I appreciate the time that I was able to spend with him and the knowledge he was able to share with me. He was very knowledgeable about the game and wanted his players to get better and love the game as much as he did. John was truly a wonderful man on and off the field. He will be greatly missed!"
